To Bless a Nation

1 Timothy 2:1–4 (NIV84) 1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

To Bless A Nation

With great blessing comes great responsibility. God has poured out His favor upon our nation, but as followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to bless this land in return.

I. We Must Pray Unceasingly (1 Timothy 2:1–2; James 5:16)

II. We Must Live Righteously (1 Timothy 2:2; 1 Peter 2:12)

III. We Must Evangelize Fervently (1 Timothy 2:3–4; Philemon 6; John 10:10)

Our Ultimate Hope: True, lasting freedom is not found in civic actions alone, but in the spiritual redemption won at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ.
