The Temple of Power

Sermon Outline: The Temple of Power

(1 Corinthians 3:16) Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

 I. The Presence of the Spirit in the Gathered Church

·       A church shouldn't be about "What about ME?" but about gathering in unity.

·       The Holy Spirit dwells powerfully when the Church collectively gathers. (1 Corinthians 3:16)

·       Where two or three gather, Jesus promises a special presence. (Matthew 18:20)

·       God desires to fill His place of worship with His glory. (2 Chronicles 7:1–4)

II. Built on the Ultimate Foundation

·       Jesus builds His church on the truth of who He is. (Matthew 16:15–16, 18)

·       Our gathering as the church is meant to electrify and transform us.

III. Joined Together as Living Stones

·       Our faith cannot be a "Lone Ranger" faith; we are built together. (Ephesians 2:21–22)

·       We are living stones, called to step up, interconnect, and serve. (1 Peter 2:5)

 IV. Defending God's Temple

·       God takes it personally when someone hurts His people or causes division. (1 Corinthians 3:17, 1 Corinthians 11:30, Galatians 5:19–21)

·       How to avoid the trap of division:

1.   Remember whose church it is (It belongs to Jesus).

2.   Interconnect with other believers.

3.   Build each other up in Christ.

 Conclusion: The 12th Man

·       Don't just be a spectator in the bleachers; get in the game and be ALL IN for the Cause of Christ.
